Week 1

For our first lecturer we learned about this module and we are gonna do for the entire semester.In this module we will fulfill two projects and one Final project. Moreover during all tutorials we will exercise in editing and understanding of process of production. In addition after this course we will be able to use all capabilities  in Adobe Premiere Pro.

Exercise: Lecturer Martin gave cuts of shootings of our seniors  for us to exercise in editing and positioning.

On our second lecturer taught us about Camera angles and types of shots. 

3 factors in camera angles:

• Camera height

• Subject size

• Subject angle

• Extreme Wide Shot (EWS)

• Wide Shot (WS)

• Mediume Wide Shot (MWS)

• Mediume Shot 1 

• Mediume Shot 2

• Mediume Close up (MCU)

• Over the Shoulder Shot (O.S)

• Close up Shot (CU)

• Extreme Close up Shot (ECU)

Week 3

Types of shots:

Exercise: For this exercise we were devided in pairs to complete it . So our main task was to try take different types of shotes of each other.

In today lecturer Lecturer taught us about storytelling and act structure:

Story = Explicitly Presented Events + Presumed/Inferred Events

Plot  =  Explicitly Presented Events + Added Non-diegetic (narrative) Material

Story is the full sequence of events in a work of a fiction as we imagine to have taken place - in the order which they would have occurred in life.

Plot is concerned with how events are related, how they are structured and how the enact changed in the major characters.

3 – ACT Structure

• Beginning: Setup / introduction of a story

• Middle: Confrontation of a problem in the story

• End: Resolution of problems

Exercise: Today's task was to  watch and analyse two given videos and identify start and end of 3 different acts in each video.

"Piano Tuner"

Main Character: Person that gives up on his dream and prefer an easier way in life.

Arc 1: Story of main character

Plot point 1: Not all people can stand up after a failure and  they choose to gave up on their goals than try to solve them.

Act 2: He pretends a blind person and fools people. A

Climax scene : He came to clients home and becomes  a witness of a murder.

Plot point 2: His lie turned bad for him.

Act 3: He keeps playing.

 "Lalin"

Main Character: She prefer to avoid the problem and tolerate humiliation.

Arc 1: They show her new life in Japan and a bit of past.

Plot point 1: Even when you try hard to start new life and hide you past, it’s always will be there until you accept it.

Act 2: She starts to chat with boy through messenger  and falls in love with him. Their relationship becomes more deep.

Climax scene : Friend from chat came for her to Sapporo and asks for meeting and now Lalin faces a choice and makes a wrong one. She opens her secret to the audience which explains everything.

Plot point 2: You wouldn’t be happy until you accept  yourself.

Act 3: Lalin reveals to all her follower her true face.

Week 4

At this day we  were devided into two groups to do our assignment. Our venue for shooting was from 8 p.m. to 12 p.m. Our shooting place was at shop in commercial block.

Week 5 24.04.18

In this lesson we edited the footage from last week. Also we were shown how to insert titles to the end of the video and this was our exercise for today.

Today we studied how to adjust colors. We were given a pair of shots one with cold shades and another with warm shades and we had to practice on them: adjusting the exposure, highlights, midtone shadows, and many more on the adjustment layers. We use adjustment layer to put effects on all the shot at the same time and don't affect the orginal shots.
